Images of Kumbh Festival

I visited Kumbh Mela (Festival) in Feb 2019 in Prayagraj on the confluence of holy Ganga (The Ganges) and the Yamuna rivers. This is the biggest gathering of pilgrims and biggest festival anywhere in the world. The devotion, the enchantment and the happiness of people one finds there is unimaginable. I was simply lucky to be there and in getting lost in the crowd.

Boats at confluence of Ganga Yamuna for holy dip. At Kumbh in Pryagraj flocks of people take a boat ride from either banks of Yamuna river to the confluence point, with an option of holy dip there. And it never seems to end.

Colours of Ganga Yamuna at Prayagraj Kumbh Festival. Even the night is beautiful at Prayagraj. All the banks are so well illuminated, that day dosen't seem to end. A night view from Aral Ghat on 11.02.2019, with calm Ganges water at distance and Yamuna streaming into Ganges in near distance.

Another tourist at Kumbh. The Black Headed Gulls come in flocks to Northern India and to Prayagraj in winters from colder Eurasian regions. Though these were constantly moving, the 10fps of Sony a6000 got it on right moment. (On 11.02.2019)
